AVOID Public Adjuster fees

Public Adjusters May End Up Costing Thousands

A Public Adjuster may NOT be your best option

Reasons why you should avoid public adjusters:

  1. Sales Pitch – Many public adjusters are trained and “sell” themselves and services.
  2. Insurance Check – A public adjuster’s name will appear on ALL insurance checks issued to you regarding a specific loss. This is important because they may attempt to place a lien on your claim.
  3. Control – You are NOT in control, the public adjuster is. We at PCT feel that YOU, the homeowner, should be given the knowledge of a public adjuster and remain “in-control” at all times.
  4. Time Delay – Public adjusters may be busy at times. If you are represented by a busy PA, you may experience lengthy delays simply because they are too busy.
  5. Costs – Adjusters may not directly cost you money, however, they do take a percentage of the claim settlement check. As seen below, this could end up being thousands of dollars.

For a fraction of the price, you can at least attempt to manage the claim yourself with our PCT Homeowners Insurance Claim Kit. The claim kit guides you through the entire claim process with all tools/information needed to successfully negotiate yourself. With the claim kit, you will be able to:

  1. Learn insurance basics
  2. Notify the claim properly
  3. Determine coverage
  4. Create detailed, accurate estimates using pre-made Excel Workbooks (with calculations already entered in to do the math for you)
  5. And much much more!
